Detailed Daywise Itinerary
Day 1 : Sundarban Arrival
We start our journey from Kolkata. First pickup point is the Indian Museum Main Gate near Park Street Metro. Report at 8:00 AM and leave at 8:30 AM. The second pickup point is P.C. Chandra Garden Gate No.1 near Science City. Report at 8:30 AM and leave at 9:00 AM. It takes exactly three hours of scenic tea–break ride to get up to our Sundarbans hotel around 1.30 PM in time to lunch. An enchanting boat tour through the Sundarban Bird Jungle is awaiting its guest for a breathtaking sunset before a lively folk dance will help to unwind in snacks besides bonfire in winters.
- 10:00 AM - Pick-up from Canning Railway Station by Auto/Tata Magic and head towards Godhkhali Launch Ghat to board the boat.
- 1:30 PM - Arrive at the hotel, located near the Sundarban Tiger Reserve, surrounded by villages, forests, and river views—a perfect spot for a peaceful weekend escape.
- 2:00 PM - Lunch at the hotel.
- 4:00 PM - Enjoy an introductory boat ride to the Sundarban Bird Jungle and a lovely sunset view. Return to the hotel by 6:00 PM.
- 7:00 PM - Experience a local folk dance performance with complimentary tea/coffee and snacks.
- 8:00 PM - Bonfire and music (winter season only).
- 10:00 PM - Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 2 : Exploring Sundarban
Explore the vast expanse of this protected area with a guided safari through its winding rivers and spotting wildlife on the way. Highlights of this journey include walking through the canopy at Do-Banki and visiting the five-river junction. Return to Kolkata in the evening with memories of this unique wilderness adventure.
- 8:00 AM - Begin the Sundarban delta safari by boat.
- 8:30 AM - Start the guided jungle safari at Sajnekhali Tiger Reserve, led by an official guide.
- 9:30 AM - Continue on a thrilling boat safari through rivers, islands, and creeks, visiting areas like Pirkhali, SarakKhali, Gazikhali, Deul Varani, Banbib Varani, and Sudhanyakhali Watch Tower. Here, we’ll look for spotted deer, crocodiles, wild boar, snakes, water monitor lizards, various bird species, and possibly the elusive Royal Bengal Tiger.
- 12:30 PM - Stop at Do-Banki Tiger Reserve & Watch Tower and experience the 896-meter canopy walk to view wildlife safely.
- 1:30 PM - Visit Panchamukhni, a scenic junction of five rivers.
- 4:00–5:00 PM - The Sundarban jungle tour concludes as we head back to Kolkata.
- 8:00–9:00 PM - Arrive in Canning.
